Layout Tour 2
Ed Fischer’s HO Piedmont and Tidewater Railroad represents a short line that runs up the Northern Neck from Reedsville to Fredericksburg, which was planned but never actually built--pure freelance. It also includes a rebuilt Virginia Central Railway from Fredericksburg to Orange---proto-freelance. No stacks, no racks, no locals ducking into holes to let the varnish by; it is a switching layout with lots of places to spot railcars but not a lot of extras like scenery.
Our First Layout is Jim Moores Southern Railway themed layout The layout is HO Scale and measures 16ft by 27ft. The setting is the Appalachian Region of Southwest Virginia, Southern West Virginia and western North Carolina in 1949. The layout focuses on coal hauling with a few through Freights and Passenger Trains.
Our next Hangouts will be on Saturday February 8th at 9AM and Wednesday February 12th at 7PM. Invitations will come via email a day or two ...
