Layout Tour 2

Layout Tour 2

Ed Fischer’s HO Piedmont and Tidewater Railroad represents a short line that runs up the Northern Neck from Reedsville to Fredericksburg, which was planned but never actually built--pure freelance.  It also includes a rebuilt Virginia Central Railway from Fredericksburg to Orange---proto-freelance.  No stacks, no racks, no locals ducking into holes to let the varnish by; it is a switching layout with lots of places to spot railcars but not a lot of extras like scenery.

  1. I was wondering if you have ever visited the Reedville Fishermans Museum. It too has a model railroad that depicts the proposed line from Reedville to Fredericksburg set in roghly the 1930-1940 era. This large layout !5x 40 is completely sceniced and includes some spectacular boat models to complement the scratchbuilt structures that dominate the towns like Reedville. At one point they made a film of that layout
